After final bill is requested, deposits will be applied to your account. All refunds are processed in the next month's billing. If a balance on the account is due, you will receive a bill stating how much is still owed. If you are entitled to a refund, it will be available after the 15th of the month or mailed to the forwarding address listed above unless otherwise requested. Discontinue Service Information: 1) We will process your work order to terminate your service with us on a working date you request. A final reading will be taken off the meter. Depending on the date of termination and your billing cycle determines when a final bill will be calculated. 2) There will be a $5.00 gas service change added to your final gas bill. 3) The cut-off date for refunds is the 20th of each month. All billing and refunds will be processed within the next 2-months. All meter deposit refunds must be approved by the Mayor and Board of Alderman. The list of refunds is submitted to the Board at the first board meeting of each month. 4) When your final bill is processed, your meter deposit will be applied to the bill and after the 15th of the following month your account will reflect this balance. Per your request on your discontinue form, we will either mail your refund / or final bill to you or hold it in our office for you to pick up. 5) If after your deposits have been applied you have a balance due on your account, based on Senate Bill 3049, this balance will be turned over to the statewide data base to assist in the collection of past due water bills. 6) Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the utility billing and the confidentiality of each customer.
